5/3/2017 Bettane & Desseauve BETTANE & DESSEAUVE ( BETTANE & DESSEAUVE) : 95-96 / 100 Echantillons montrant la progression du cru, avec un corps généreux et bien défini et de superbes notes de cèdre et de tabac, typées du secteur. 5/2/2017 Martin WINE ADVOCATE (NEAL MARTIN) : 89-91 / 100 The 2016 Croizet Bages has a clean and well-defined bouquet with tobacco-tinged black fruit, conservative but nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm and grainy tannin. It displays some elegance towards the finish, something that I do not always find in this Pauillac growth and it may well mature into a fine, probably earlier-drinking 2016 compared to its peers. Bouche agréable, savoureuse, de corps et de longueur moyens. 4/27/2017 The Wine Cellar Insider THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER (JEFF LEVE) : 86-88 / 100 Medium bodied, lean in weigh with salty tannins, this wine has a classic, old school Pauillac profile of lead pencil and cedar. 4/26/2017 Vinous VINOUS (ANTONIO GALLONI) : 86-89 / 100 The 2016 Croizet-Bages is plump, juicy and delicious. There is lovely immediacy to the 2016. A rush of black cherry, plum, licorice, smoke and tobacco meld together in this pliant, open-knit Pauillac. I suppose the 2016 could use just a bit more focus, as it is a bit diffuse today. Hopefully that will come with time. There is good potential here. 4/25/2017 Jukes MATTHEWJUKES.COM (MATTHEW JUKES) : 16 / 20 (55 Cabernet Sauvignon, 41 Merlot, 4 Cabernet Franc) | 50% new oak | 13.5% alc. | 45 hl/ha. Finally, a good, hearty effort from this much-maligned estate. Nice, juicy Merlot gives this wine a generous heart and the tannins and oak, in spite of their coarseness, cannot put it off its stride. 16+ 4/21/2017 Robinson JANCIS ROBINSON (JANCIS ROBINSON) : 16,5 / 20 Very ripe cassis. Cool finish. Not too much heart and soul and a bit austere on the end but very correct and very bordelais. 4/19/2017 Wine Enthusiast WINE ENTHUSIAST (ROGER VOSS) : 91-93 / 100 Barrel Sample. Packed with black currant acidity, this juicy wine comes from an improving estate. It has plenty of generous fruit cut by intense acidity. The wine's balance suggests cellaring until 2026. 4/5/2017 Jamessuckling.com JAMESSUCKLING.COM (JAMES SUCKLING) : 92-93 / 100 Lots of blackcurrant and hot-stone character on the nose. Full and tannic with a chewy finish. Shows structure. Very well done.
